Mark «Max» Swigart has been seriously living, playing and teaching music for over 25 years. Proficient in all areas and styles of music—with emphasis in the woodwind instruments, keyboards, and drums—Swigart is particularly strong in double reeds, (oboe and English horn) and jazz improvisation (saxophone and flute).
He is a founding member of the touring and professional jazz group, New York City Swing, and has toured with well known bands throughout North America, Europe, and the Far East.
His career as recording soloist and backup musician includes working with Billy Eckstein, Joe Williams, Vic Damone, Al Dimielo, Jerry Lewis, Flip Wilson, Shecky Greene, Redd Foxx, Roy Clark, Bobby Gentry, Wayne Newton, Dionne Warwick, Vicky Sue Robinson, The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Drifters, The Marvelettes, and the Angels.

Stressing the importance of becoming independent, responsible, life-long learners, emphasis is focused on reinforcing proper practice habits and problem solving skills.
